  • Tampa Area Dog Beaches

    DSCN0085

Tampa is quite a dog friendly area, and since our area has a bunch of beaches, there must be dog beaches some where. Here is a list of dog beaches in the area. Mocha luckily has been to all of them. What a lucky, spoiled dog.

Fort De Soto Park – Tierre Verde, FL – St. Pete Beach area

If you love the outdoors, then this is the place to go. There is something for everyone including camping, bike rides, kayaking, and of course a dog beach

The walk from the parking lot to the beach is pretty close. The sand is alright, not as nice as other beaches. The beach area is a good size. The water is pretty and clear.

I liked it here a lot. There also were parks for the dogs which showers to rinse off for the dogs. The bathrooms for us were clean and near to the parking lot.

The thing about this place is that there are not many restaurants in this area that you can bring your dog. Before you hit street bridge in the direction of the park, make sure to get food in St. Pete.

    Honeymoon Island State Park

Love the beach here. The sand is so soft and white. the water is so clear. You can see to the bottom with no problem. That’s good for me who freaks out about all the creatures in the water lol.

Mocha has a great time at the beach. The water was calm, and suitable for not the best swimmer, and the kids in all of you.

The area designated as the dog beach was a very long walk from the parking lot. There are a lot of poop bag garbage cans and stations for showering yourself and dogs afterwards.

This is located by the south end of the the island, and there are very clear signs that show you were the dog beach is.

One disadvantage  If you have to go to the bathroom really bad you will be walking forever, and I swear it felt like forever even more. Make sure to go closer to the south end clubhouse i guess you call it if you are headed to the dog beach, then you will be closer to the bathroom lol.

    Davis Island Dog Beach

Convenient to the Tampa area. This is a quaint dog beach, not people swimming beach. It is close to the parking lot, and also close to the dog park. It is a hop skip and jump when you are in the Tampa area. It is nice to be able to come here and through the ball with the dog and not have to worry about anything. It Is located in a very residential area.

    Brohard Paw Park & Beach

When you are in the Sarasota area, and you want to bring your dog to the dog beach, Brohard is the best one to go to in Venice, FL. The dog beach and the park are very nice, convenient, clean, and the water at the dog beach is so pretty. This is a blast of an afternoon.
